Curved Piecing Series
4-Week Series:
Mondays, Oct 26-Nov 16 | 6-8:30 p.m.
Are you a new quilter curious about curved piecing? Quarter circles are a simple and easy entry point to curved piecing, and there are endless ways to combine them to create different designs and layouts. In this series, you’ll create your own version of a quarter-circle quilt top (up to 24” square). Class will include three instructional sessions and a final open studio session with extra time to finish your quilt top!
We will cover:
Session 1: Planning + cutting
Session 2: Piecing blocks
Session 3: Piecing quilt top
Session 4: Studio
All materials are included. There will be a variety of solid-color fabrics available for you to choose from, but if there are specific colors or prints you know you want to include in your quilt, you are welcome to bring your own. If you opt to supply your own fabric, I recommend either 6-8 fat quarters OR 1-2 yards. You can also use fabric scraps to make your quilt; ideally at least 8” in size
All skill levels welcome, ideal for confident beginners. All participants should be familiar with how to use a sewing machine. 14+
Julia is offering a 50% scholarship spot for each of her workshops for people who self-identify as needing financial assistance, for any reason. The scholarship spot is first-come, first served. To claim the scholarship price, use the code JULIASCHOLARSHIP-CPS at checkout.
Julia Triman is a quilter and quilting teacher fascinated with the creative process and the philosophy of creativity. She shares her quilts and creativity stories at quiltingjulia.com.
