Learn to Sew Everyday Elastic Shorts
Thursday & Friday, June 12 & 13 from 6 - 8:30 p.m.
Join Becky for a fun and breezy Linen Cotton Elastic Shorts Sewing Workshop! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to sew a comfortable and stylish pair of shorts perfect for warm weather. Made with soft linen cotton fabric and an elastic waistband, these shorts are ideal for casual days, summer outings, or lounging. Whether you’re a beginner or have some sewing experience, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of creating your own custom-fit shorts.
Skills Learned:
Basic garment construction
Creating an elastic waistband
Sewing with lightweight fabrics (linen/cotton)
Hemming and finishing techniques
All materials/machines and tools are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own. If you’d like to bring your own fabric, you’ll need 2 yards of non-stretch cotton or linen fabric.
Becky Jane studied pattern making and design at Apparel and Arts in San Francisco, and has been teaching sewing and pattern drafting for 10+ years. She’s also the owner of By Becky Jane where she creates and sells custom apparel and accessories.
