Turn your sewing machine into a drawing tool! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of free-motion embroidery, a technique that lets you “draw” with thread by moving your fabric freely beneath the needle.
We’ll cover how to set up a standard home sewing machine for free-motion stitching, control your fabric, experiment with different lines and textures, and build confidence creating your own stitched designs.
No experience with free-motion embroidery is needed. All materials, tools, and sewing machines are provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
Beginner-friendly, all skill levels welcome. Participants should be familiar with how to use a sewing machine. Ages 16+
Anjori, the artist behind Bee Threadly, is a self-taught textile artist who discovered sewing in 2017 as a creative outlet while transitioning from computer engineering to life as a new mom. What began with sewing clothing grew into a love of embroidery and textile art. Today, she “paints” with her sewing machine, creating unique three-dimensional pieces inspired by nature, memories, and the people around her.
