Sew your own pair of modern, slightly-barrel Kite Pants from Matchy Matchy! This two-day workshop will guide you step-by-step through the entire pattern — including learning to sew pockets — while you make a pair of pants you’ll want to wear every day. These pants coordinate perfectly with the Kids Pants Workshop, but taking that class is totally optional.
In this class, you’ll learn how to:
Read and understand a commercial sewing pattern
Choose the correct size and make simple fit adjustments
Lay out and cut your fabric with confidence
Sew the unique curved leg seams of the Kite Pant
Construct and attach pockets
Insert an elastic waistband
Finish your seams and hems for a clean, professional look
All fabric, materials, and pattern included!
Skill level: Great for confident beginners and up. If you can use a sewing machine, you can make these pants.
Becky Jane studied pattern making and design at Apparel and Arts in San Francisco, and has been teaching sewing and pattern drafting for 10+ years. She’s also the owner of By Becky Jane where she creates and sells custom apparel and accessories.
