Saturday, October 25 | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Spend the day sewing your own Merchant & Mills Tee Shirt—a classic, unisex boxy top with clean lines and a relaxed fit. This workshop is perfect for confident beginners ready to tackle a simple garment project from start to finish.
What you'll learn
How to read and follow a printed sewing pattern
Fabric layout, cutting, and preparation
Step-by-step garment construction
Finishing techniques for a polished look
What's included
Full-size, professionally printed Merchant & Mills PDF pattern
Six hours of hands-on instruction
Use of studio sewing machines and tools
What to bring
1.5 to 2 yards of lightweight woven fabric (cotton, linen, or similar) I will have some available but no guarantee of color or style
Matching thread
Ribbing for the neckline (approx. 1/4 yard; I’ll have some extra on hand)
Lunch or snack (we’ll take a short break mid-day)
Skill level
Confident beginner — students should be comfortable threading and operating a sewing machine.
Becky Jane studied pattern making and design at Apparel and Arts in San Francisco, and has been teaching sewing and pattern drafting for 10+ years. She’s also the owner of By Becky Jane where she creates and sells custom apparel and accessories.
